Review of Lolene's CD, "Lonely Dealin's"
by Suzanne Smith/Songwriter

Thus far the reviews of this wonderful CD have been excellent and informative. Each giving you many background facts on the lovely and talented Lolene and her new CD. Moving in a slightly different direction, I hope to lend a more personal touch in my review of her new CD, Lonely Dealin's" yet add my views as impartially as possible.

Little did I know last year when I contacted Lolene about the possibility of working on some songs together that I was in for a wonderful adventure, leading to a musical relationship and special friendship with this lovely and talented lady. We co-wrote the number one track on her new CD, "Lonely Dealin's", titled, "Slow Burn" which is an upbeat song about the attraction and love between a man and woman. Lolene's unique voice and style make this song a great kick off tune that leads you into a beautiful song titled, "You Say The Word", one of my personal favorites. It begins soft and slow, then crescendos into a powerful chorus. A perfect song to show her vocal range and feelings for the lyrics she sings.

With the exception of four tracks on her CD, Lolene wrote the majority of them herself, demonstrating her talent as a diverse songwriter. From a lovely love ballad titled, "I Will" which expresses a woman's feelings on her wedding day, to an upbeat, rocking tune, "The Deals Gone Down", she shows that her logo, "Country Music With An Attitude" truly describes her writing and singing talents perfectly. In singing and writing Lolene demonstrates her individuality doing what comes naturally.

I had the fortunate pleasure of meeting Lolene in Nashville in April, 2002 and sat in on her final session to complete her CD. Over the past year we have developed not only a writing relationship, but a wonderful friendship. I look forward, with pleasure to working on more songs with Lolene for her future projects. Listening to Lolene's new CD, "Lonely Dealin's" it's difficult to choose my favorite song. Each one has a sound and personality of it's own. In closing, I'd like to say, owning Lolene's new CD is like having a box of delicious chocolates. I had to taste each song to find which one I liked best. My advice is to get your copy and taste test it yourself. You are most definitely in for a real listening treat!
